Hi guys,
Another dumb question from your newest paid up member. I do apologise.
Were the early sprints the only one's to carry the sprint nose badge ( sprint in yellow ) ? Later cars had "Dolomite" ?
I think i'm confused.
Thanks,

Daz

The Dolomite badge was used (on 1850s) from 72-76.
The Dolomite Sprint nose badge was used 73-76.
Both of these also had a Triumph badge on the upper NS front panel.

When the Toledo and 1500TC were discontinued, the now expanded Dolomite range all had Triumph nose badges.
(The boot lid badges changed from silver lettering on black to black lettering on silver.)

Obviously owners can and have chosen to swap badges over the years.

Ian.

Yes the early Sprint nose badge is the only one with Sprint in Yellow, this was accompanied by yellow striped "D" pillar badges and Sprint in yellow on the boot badge. Later cars 76>? had a smaller roughly inverted chevron with Triumph written on it accompanied by "D" pillar and boot badges in a more subdued light gold shade. Final series cars, or possibly just the last few of the final series got a black nose badge close to the same size and shape of the original and carrying the Triumph laurel wreath.
At least that's how it SHOULD be! With badges so easy to swap, many later cars can now be seen with the bright yellow badges cos most people who aren't wedded to originality like them best (me included)
