I am in the process of putting my car's rear doors back together. I have new rubber seals except, of course, the quarterlights which are unobtainable. Mine are in one piece, but a bit cracked in places. I have read online that rubber can be revived by boiling in water for a while. Has anyone tried this? Or can anyone recommend a good product that may help?

Thanks

Simon

Coat them in glycerine, available from any chemist shop, daily for a week. This will help. Never tried boiling.

When using glycerine for this do I need to keep it off the paint? Should I seal new paint first with polish or wax? Anything really I'll regret not knowing first?
