My 1500 HL has carbs with the mixture adjustment sealed - running too rich (sooty plugs) any
Ideas on how to weeken the mixture ?

If by sealed you mean waxstat, this nut here adjusts the mixture

Or if by sealed you mean the idle adjustment screws have a seal over them, hoick the seal out.
