Hi folks,

Driving my Sprint today and the dash wood is in need of a spruce up. The varnish has cracked and is coming away from the wood so if I get it early, it should stop any further damage and make it all look 100% better.

Can someone tell me if the gauges need to come out, or can I unscrew the 4 x screws on each corner and remove without disturbing the gauges?

Thanks for any advise.

Andrew

Much easier to take the gauges out and refurb the wood. Alternatively find another set of wood, refurb that and then build the gauges into that one. If you don't take them out you'll make a mess all over the fronts. A decent home refurb is pretty easy to do though you may want to do all the wood over time to keep it matching.

Yes.

It may be helpful to lower the steering column.
Once pulled forward you can disconnect the speedometer and unplug the wiring.
