This is a good place to start. I'm not much into the UK dolomite scene but was that car once in a magazine? I do remeber some brown metallic one.

My earliest memory of this car is from a SODIT in South Wales back in 1993. I don't think it had been long done in its classy gold paint then and it's great it's still around. I'm sure the engine was mildly tuned as well, is that still the case? Welcome to the forum Steve.

The rev counter has it's own ground connection at the back. Probably it's earthed through the panel lights. When turning on the lights it's no ground anymore.
