It's only £18 for 1kg reel of PVA filament, so it won't be a big component of any final cost.

If I need a seal, I think I would improvise.

Off the top of my head, so to speak, I am thinking combining sections of drop channel rubber with door glass outer sealing strIp...?

Perversely I think it's the scanning that will cause the trouble. I'm having a bit of an issue finding someone to do that part. Would you have any ideas of someone who might be able to have a go?

One quote back for the scanning - £300 seems a tad excessive...

I think it may be possible to make a mould direct from the seal, so that's going to be my next avenue of investigation.

Looking up the thread for someone else and just spotted the question. I haven't done it yet but was considering building a 3D scanner from an XBOX Kinect unit, built an augmented reality sandbox with one which worked really well, so have plans as they say.
