I had the same issue with my Dolomite 1300, lasted nearly two years of trying everything, coils, caps, leads, carb rebuild, plugs, even new engine earth, fuel pump. Everything was done to try and cure it eventually the luminition system was removed when it was discovered it was extremely hot and the car returned to points and condenser. Problem solved car has now run this year faultlessly.
I kept being told it will not be the ignition system they either work or fail totally and are very reliable. After searching on line after it was removed found others have had the very same problem. The base plate due to the fixing screws supplied with the kit does not sit down tight in the distributor and causes a bad earth and gives the symptoms you are having. When mine was removed it was black underneath from this. Worth checking.
