If you need to replace the speedo; drive gear ( the one on the mainshaft itself) on a non-O/D 1500 / 1850 gearbox do you have to take the whole box out, remove the bell housing knock out the roll-pin at the front withdraw the selector rod, unscrew the bolts on the rear housing draw it off and then extract the nylon gear ???
Looking at the parts book if you could get the roll-pin out from the swivelly bit at the base of the gear-lever that it should come straight out. And a lot less dismantling.
Is this possible please ?
