If you need to replace the speedo; drive gear ( the one on the mainshaft itself) on a non-O/D 1500 / 1850 gearbox do you have to take the whole box out, remove the bell housing knock out the roll-pin at the front withdraw the selector rod, unscrew the bolts on the rear housing draw it off and then extract the nylon gear ??? :shock:
Looking at the parts book if you could get the roll-pin out from the swivelly bit at the base of the gear-lever that it should come straight out. And a lot less dismantling.
Is this possible please ?
