I have just built a Sprint engine and took the old engine as part exchange. The exchange engine had been running on twin 40's Webers and piston damage had occurred with scuffing and broken rings.
I have diagnosed a rich mixture causing the oil to be washed off the bores and partial seizure and hence breaking the rings.
I have been in touch with the Sprint owner as if he continues using the set up on the engine I built the same will happen again. He lives in Surrey and my question is this.
Who can set up Webers correctly in Surrey?

Hi Jon,

I know that Tom Airey in Cheriton has a good reputation with Webers and Dellortos and is not far from the Surrey border on the west Farnham / Guildford areas but obviously no good at all if he's from the Reigate side.

Not used him but I've only heard good things about him.

Len

Thanks Len Tom is indeed a well known man and I am surprised he is still doing it as he has to be over 80 now!
