That looks like a tr7 head. You will have a significant power loss because of lower compression. I'm not even sure that the headgasket will seal around the combustion chamber.

it would seem that it is a TR7 head.

I followed the link and Jeroen's 'random TR7 head' is the same as mine minus the EGR bosses.

I'll finish it off with new valves, valve springs and shim it up and see if I can sell it on.

There is one for sale on Ebay £212, just a bare head with no camshaft, no cam caps or valves and no indication as to how good the gasket face is.
