Driving my sprint today I noticed the overdrive works on all 4 gears , just wondered if any one has come across this before.
I can only think someone has played with it before I owned it,drives absolutely fine ,it didn't work when I was restoring the car but a new switch and a rewire sorted that.its taken me a year to realise this because I have only ever used it on 3rd and 4th,until today.
Thanks Martin

It will probably work also when the gearbox is in reverse? That can destroy your od when it's on and you try to reverse enthusiastic.

Od on in first gear isn't also not advisable. Too much torque on it.

The best is to sort it out that it does work on 3 and 4 again to save you from trouble in the future.

Should be simple to fix other than having to remove the tunnel to access. While it could be incorrect wiring or a faulty switch, remember that the switch operation is quite sensitive to how far it is screwed in and therefore how many washers are used. Easy to test by listening for the on/off click from the solenoid or just wire a lightbulb in to the non earth wire going to the solenoid. ignition on of course!
