Okay then guys. My selection from dipped to main beam is faulty. They flash just fine but when I push it the lights die, dash and side lights are fine though. I replaced one with a spare before but with the MOT a week away I need to fix or fit another one. Before you mention relays, I've built a headlight loom but not fitted yet so I know it's my own fault.
Any advice upon fixing the old one or a good spare is highly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance,
Mark.

I've moved the thread here because it is a technical question.

If you look up from the under the column with the cowling off you can just see the contact that switches to main beam when the stalk is push forward. Mine did the same as yours as the flexi bit of the contact wasn't touching the fixed part when the stalk was in the main beam position. With careful use of small screw drivers you can bend the flexi bit to ensure if makes contact. You may want to disconnect the battery as this is live.
