This is very timely.
El Sprinto failed on me twice this weekend, very hot coil etc. just under an hour later she started again. I know somebody mentioned fitting a proper 1 micro farad capacitor externally, but I haven't found anything suitable.

do you have the part number for the Fiesta condenser please?

Malcolm

Hi Malcolm, Here is a link to the thread on the external capacitor I had on my 1850.
The manual quotes the specified value as being 0.18 to 0.23uF
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=32201&hilit=capacitor

The one I tried is still available from R.S. Components 0.22uF at 1KV d.c rating part number 114-610 but the price is now nearly £6 each.
Is the Fiesta unit round about 0.2uF ?
Now with the link...
Tony.

This is also a timely post for me if I'm to ever get my 1850 running again on the Delco dizzy and points.

Pretty much any .22mfd 630v capacitor will do the job of a simple snubber. i.e http://uk.farnell.com/c/passive-compone ... ating=630v
