 Post subject: Carb tops

found out today that my Carbs tops touch the bonnet,how much can I take off the tops safely. My Carbs are HS 8

If there the Jaguar HS8's with the low dash pots or the original ST HS8's they should not touch the bonnet ( but I believe some Jag carbs have a higher front dashpot ) , pics would help :D

when the bonnet is closed they hit the bonnet frame,can i cut any more off,they look like some one has cut them before
