I've bought a matching reproduction plate as the original is barely legible, moth-eaten and just holding on with one pop-rivet so now I need to stamp the relevant info on it.

Does anyone know what font it is or by any chance does anybody have a set of the appropriate stamping 'punches'?

Thank you - I'd search the forum for 'VIN' but not 'chassis' plate before posting this....

I have punches of various sizes here John, but the problem I’ve found in the past is getting individual letters and numbers in a straight line!

What ive done is use a steel rule, then the punch letters rest against the rule

I did the same with the steel rule taped down as well, and it still looked like a dog's hind leg!

Two blocks of wood g clamped to the metal spaced with a couple of spare letters and some card to give a little wiggle room, letter spacing marked out in pencil on the wood. At least that's what we did at school when letter stamping.
