 Post subject: bonnet release catch

i have got corrosion around one of the two bolts that holds the bonnet release catch onto the inside of the bonnet so it is pulling away from the inside of the bonnet . anyone got any recommendations how to resolve this. thanks

The easiest way would be to replace the bonnet, but from my experience they are becoming scarce in good order.

I have a couple of scrap bonnets; I'd need to remind myself how the two pins attach to the inner skin of the bonnet, but if either of mine are good enough, I could cut that area out and provide it as a repair panel to be let into your's for a less straightforward remedy...
