Hi,

Are the air boxes on a Triumph Dolomite 1500 and 1850 the same?

Thanks,

Phil.

There are two types of air cleaner used on 1850s, depending on whether the car has Strombergs or SUs
and neither is the same as the Dolomite 1500 type..

However, it will be possible to alter the mounting holes (and filter positions)
on either 1850 type to fit a 1500. Rather a lot of work though?

Ian.

What Ian said!

If you are after one look for a Midget 1500 one, they are the same

Mig wielder on here has one available, think it is early 1850. I have a 1500 one, but it is holding a pair of carbs together at the moment.

I do indeed. 1 x 1850 Stromberg ( early) ( upper airbox in photo ) , and 1 x 1850 SU ( later ) airbox. Lower airbox in photo.

And they are for sale as part of Jonner's stuff.

See viewtopic.php?f=12&t=34363

I compared these with mine ( an 1850 SU airbox ) and mine has an additional throttle cable support bracket welded on the back. So another variation.
The 1500 also has flexi-pipes running forward to the front of the car.

Tony.
