speedo can legally be upto 10% out, usually under reads, but sure more of our cars (and some of the new trash produced) will be more than that

Cheers Guys.

The mechanic who MOT'd the car this morning also told me it's got a single line brake system, suggesting that she is in fact an earlier car than the registration suggests. Anyone know how I'd find this out for sure, cos it would make ordering parts much easier if I knew which age to order for...

Mines got single line too. Not until lke 79 anything other than the Sprint got dual line wasn't it?

a speedo is only a estimate of the speed travelled , therefore no legal implications apply.
this is why a speedo is not part of the MOT.
manufacturers are under no obligation to make a speedo accurate.its just in their intrest to do so or people would stop buying them.

i have a motor bike with a pedal bike speedo fitted but its not wired in and gives no reading. (passed mot though)
