Most forums have a rule against dragging threads too far off topic, and most forum users occasionally break it. This thread is, therefore, dedicated to all those users. There's only one rule of OT (beyond the usual no racism, no illegal activity, no battering small kittens with a monkey wrench):

Anything you post on this thread must have no connection whatsoever to any previous posts, with the sole exception of pointing out connections when you spot one.

Go!

I tried adding some port to our pickled onions this year. It's made them smell a bit strange but hasn't altered the taste. What a waste!

I had Lamb Hotpot for lunch today. It was distinctly average.

Our dogs are both sleeping at the moment. Lazy sods - who says it's "a dog's life"?

Sorry, but I really have to be the first to complain. There are far to many posts about food on this thread. Don't you realise that there are only just over two weeks until Christmas?

Cold water tap is dripping already here at work. They only put a new one on yesterday. According to the plumber he says the tap has a "very narrow seat" so that's why.

Isn't this how facebook started? A load of random unconnected individual statements? Of course, no one can answer that question without creating continuity!

I've just been out in Sheila to get some coal for the fire. It's a glorious December evening with a clear sky, cold air, and an orange sun low on the horizon.

In between the Ska and Dr Hook that's the staple of my car music at the moment, my MP3 started playing the Olivia Newton John version of Country Roads. Suddenly I was transported back to a time when weather was weather, not climate, burning coal to keep warm didn't make you an eco-terrorist, and it was OK to have a crush on that Aussie from Grease. So I broke the planet a little bit more by taking the long way home.

And please don't tell Mrs SM but I still fancy the pants off Olivia.

Ooppps sorry that was continuity...

And so do I. What on earth was sir Cliff on, letting that one escape.

I'm going to point out your continuity just cos it means I can point out that she's technically a Brit (born in Cambridge)without breaking the rules that I set

My Parrot fish spends its whole life lying on its side playing dead. Until I put food in the tank. Then she attacks the sharks

Sorry Nick, another food related one......

I ventured in our local Aldi today and puchased a chicken and sweetcorn sandwich, Im now looking up the law with regards to them using the word 'Tasty' on the packet.

Am i allowed to ask what a 'parrot fish' is?
