But those eyebrows live on! That's not bad going though, 98.

Ex Bradford Grammar School chap, they used to have a portrait of him in the corridor off the main entrance.

Oh yeah, I forgot about his local education. I think he went to the original building which is now a car park.

Of course! I knew that the Frizinghall site wasn't built into the late 1930's and he would definitely predate that. I bet much of Bradford has changed, for a start I bet the Turf pub at the top of Frizinghall road doesn't have an off license window anymore! Mind you, I was far too young to drink, I just used to occasionally get sent up there to buy some tins of Long Life, which thinking about it now was a bit odd for a 10 year old to do. Actually for some reason I can remember a lot of the pubs, probably were I had been sent to go fetch my dad, because as well as the Turf, there was the dirty duck (Swan?) at the bottom of Frizinghall road, and the Spotted Dick on Manningham lane just past the BGS prep school...

I never actually went to BGS, I went to Nab Wood Grammar in Cottingley, but my dad was the BGS head groundsman in the late 70s and we used to live in the grounds itself.

This is not really the place to be discussing our respective educations even though we were educated in the same city as the late Mr. Healey. He was described as "the best Prime Minister we never had".
