Some few months ago, I read a thread on here which said that in a meeting with DVLA, the FBHVC had been told that the end date for using black and white/silver number plates had been changed from it's original December 31st 1972 date, and now follows the VED-free rolling date, ie, if the car is VED-free, it is entitled to wear a black plate.
I cannot now find the thread and I just wondered if anyone has any up to date information on the subject?

Steve

Here's the relevant legislation:

Parts 2 & 3 apply to our cars.

Thanks Bill that's the thread I couldn't find!

But it seems we're no further ahead on concrete information about changes!

My Dolly (L reg) was supplied with, and still retains, the yellow and black plates with the separate totally proud characters which I have to confess to preferring :-)
