Lads grande punto 1.2 has a broken thermostat housing which I replaced with a pattern part this morning but had trouble getting the temp sensor wire to fit warmed the engine up anyhow but had no flow to the rad so swapped this for another housing from another parts supplier temp sensor fitted fine and topped up and bled rad, warmed her up but still have no flow to the rad , followed a comprehensive description off how to refill so don't expect any airlocks and the heater is toasty so the pump must be working .
Could I be unlucky and have two duff replacements ?

When you say theres no flow to the rad - what do you mean? Is the car overheating or are you just worried because the radiators not getting warm to the touch? This time of year, with the heater on full, its not unusual for the rad to stay cold as the heater is taking all the heat out of the cooling system - in fact thats what the thermostat is designed to allow.
If its actually overheating thats different, personally id be looking at the waterpump next, its not an uncommon thing to fail on the little 1.2 Fiat engines, some of them have plastic impellers that fall off the shaft, and then you get no water circulation.

Thanks for the reply .... Took it for a run round the block and hey presto ,was just worried about ruining the engine, only problem I had was re tightening the rad bleed nut , wasn't done up enough but took it easy on that as its plastic just like the pipe that had snapped off the thermostat housing in the first place .
