The Triumph Dolomite Club - Discussion Forum

I use a MacBook to access this web-site but ever since I've had it from new, I can always log in O.K. ; I can write a posting ( or compose a reply ) but 50% of the time when I press "submit" I get an error message " You are required to be logged in to post a message" and the Log in screen pops up ... and my posting disappears into the ether. So up to now I've always been careful to copy all the text in case this happens then I can just log in, paste it and its happy.
Now quite by accident I have discovered that if " Private Browsing" is activated this doesn't happen. I can stay logged in for ages.
So I suspect I need something in my settings changing.
Any ideas please folks ?

I believe that the Forum software puts a cookie on to your PC so you can be identified (to a point!). If it sees a cookie when you next login, it knows who you are and logs you in. In private browsing mode, your browser doesn't accept cookies so the Forum can't identify you and you have to login manually. I think....However, my thinking seems to describe the opposite of what you're experiencing!

In some cases when Chrome is updated the option “Block third-party cookies and site data” becomes enabled.
If this is the case ‘uncheck’ that option (it’s under Settings > Privacy > Content Settings > Cookies)
