Impressive engineering feat... And looks like he has got the (much lighter anyway) engine quite far back, so it's probably reasonably nimble as well

But it isn't a mk2 GT6 in any way/shape/form!
More of a mkIV/1500 with a GT6mk3 bonnet. No doubt done to make it tax free some years ago.

Could be exciting, over 150 bhp and 100lb ft of torque. But at 10000rpm! Hmmmmmmm, wonder how it actually drives?

Think I will stick to the heavier ST170 engine in mine!

You will not be allowed to test drive, no matter how much insurance you have or how experienced you are with vehicles of this nature.

And by the sounds of it you will be lucky to even be allowed to view it, depending on whether his brother can be bothered or not!!
Interesting little car, though. I wonder where the exhaust goes.

Clearly no interest in selling then.

Need I remind you all that with a chassied car like the GT6, identity follows the Chassis, not the body! I built a similar GT6 MkII convertible back in the 80s, starting with a terminally rotten bodied car bought from a local scrappy for £120, solely so I could use it's mint front bumper on another resto project! I did keep and repair the MkII bonnet though! Which looked a little odd against the 1500 Spit tub I used, but what the heck, I liked all the louvres! There are no pix of the running gear, but if it has a rotoflex chassis (and with that much poke it would need at least that) then it probably does bear a legal resemblance to it's identity. And whilst not exactly 2 a penny, 10-15 years ago, GT6s were cheap cars to play around with, even using a lot of new panels, my convertible version was on the road for less than a grand. Now everyone goes "Aw you've ruined a rare and desirable MKII GT6" but that really isn't the case!

I'd be pleased to test it round Coombe, but not for £9k!

Steve
