There is a tidy but plateless brown 1850 shell on ebay at the moment........

When I made the comment above, I thought the possibilities of something that DIDN'T involve nicking someones pride and joy were implied and I didn't need to spell them out - maybe I was naive!

And whilst buying a Sprint V5 to legitimize your Sprinted 1500 HL is also illegal, if you own both, it's a victimless crime, so long as when (if) you sell it you don't sell it as the real thing. At least in my opinion. Others may not agree, that's their privilege!

At least now there is little benefit in ringing a 1980 Sprint to make it tax free. It'll now get there on its own in a couple of years or so!

I made sure my old shell was destroyed, the new one is an 'original spare part' and therefore I don't need a Q plate.

The DVLA had previously stated that if you were applying for a V5C using the older style one they would want prove the car existed but I guess they've decided that's too much work.

Whats also worrying is that there were four bidders wanting that log book
