Looking for some advice on my 77 1500HL with overdrive. I have a very noisy gearbox which needs to be replaced. When ringing round for replacements I have been posed the question of wether or not mine is the early scroll seal variant or the late single rail. Can anyone hazard a guess at which one would have been on mine or if there are any telltale signs as to which it could be.

Thanks in advance.

I think they mean "early three rail" (as in fitted to early 1850 cars) or later single rail. Yours will be a single rail gearbox.

I've got a newly rebuilt one for sale if you want.

I'll have yours on an exchange basis. The bell housing goes with the input shaft...so you cant trell until the box is out.

PM me if interested.
