Hello Folks,

Newbee here....Well ever since being a toddler I have had a thing about triumphs from the little rip of the dolly to the roar of the stag, and fortunately with my dad being the local mechanic back in the day and having owned probably one of each of the whole range throughout his younger years (he never usually held on to anything for more than a month or two). I have been fortunate enough to have been passenger in many a sunday spin. However now against his advice (he said the dolly was too heavy with regards to handling...although he loved fettling the engines) I am now in the position whereby I have a garage that I can actually swing a cat or hammer in and would love to fettle or build something that I can get involved in motorsport with e.g. track days, autosolo, hill climbs etc. And tbh the other triumphs are kind of out of my budget, And for some reason the appeal of the dolly just floats my boat (and probably sink my bank balance) and I love the look more than anything else out there.

So any advice would be greatly appreciated, if you are aware of any good cars for sale, possibly ready to go cars or those needing a little tinkering, parts, anything at all. Any input would be greatly welcomed and received.

Thank again for your time and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Magoo and welcome to the forum.
I know nothing about track/rally cars, the advice with any car new or old is the same - get the best bodyshell you can find/afford and beware of bodges with filler.
There are several posters on here with modified cars for track, some Sprints, some modified Sprints, some cars with completely different running gear, have a click around especially in the resto section.
Look for the Carledo, Tony Burd and Mad Mart for some of the finished articles, and there is a current resto coming together in Wales with flared arches etc.
