Welcome to the forum.

To answer a couple of your questions: No Dolomite ever came with power steering and all the Sprints left the factory with a vinyl roof.

Your biggest worry is going to be rust unless you're handy with a MIG or you know someone who is. The Club do a decent range of replacement panels which is half the battle. You've come to the right place by joining this forum and the Club membership fee is worth every penny so I strongly recommend that you join the club to take advantage of the benefits.

Hope this helps any.

There is a post somewhere on here about fitting electrically assisted power steering, such as fitted to things like a Vauxhall Corsa for example.

You shouldn't have too much trouble finding a suitable project car. There are 2 methods of restoration.

1. Get the car fit to pass an MoT and then improve it as you go along.
2. Strip the car right down to a bare shell for a full restoration.

Getting the engine running will be a big psychological boost and is worth doing even if you do a nut-and-bolt restoration. You can also assess the general health of the engine which could save money and grief.
