1973 f/w drive Dolomite 1500,
Just a small note, it's not a Dolomite it is a 'Triumph 1500' although very similar there is a lot of differences with the gearbox and running gear being the biggest difference. ALL dolomites are rear wheel drive. I'm mentioning this to save you getting the wrong parts as the Triumph 1500 gearbox is very rare and unique to that car.

It's worth giving Mike a call, he's usually very helpful. More experienced in TR and saloon boxes but you never know.

I thought my 1975 1500TC which is rear wheel drive was not a Dolomite?

Triumph Toledo (rear wheel drive) 1970-76
Triumph 1500 (front wheel drive) 1970-73
Triumph 1500TC (rear wheel drive) 1973-76
Triumph Dolomite (rear wheel drive, 1854cc engine) 1972-76
Triumph Dolomite Sprint (rear wheel drive, 1998cc engine) 1973-80

Range revamped in 1976;
All cars now rear wheel drive:
Triumph Toledo replaced with Triumph Dolomite 1300
Triumph 1500TC replaced with Triumph Dolomite 1500HL (lower spec Dolomite 1500 also introduced)
Triumph Dolomite replaced with Triumph Dolomite 1850HL
Dolomite Sprint retained with minor spec changes

Technically, 1930something was the FIRST Triumph Dolomite, The name was revived and applied to the 1850 version (only, initially) when it was launched in 1972. At this point, the 1500FWD was still in production and the name stayed the same. When the 1500 FWD was superceded by the RWD 1500TC in 1973 it was badged exactly that, not as a Dolomite. Not till the range rationalisation of 1976 did all models get the Dolomite monnicker.
