Classic & Retro Action Day (Sprint 40th Anniversary)

#1 Post by Mad Mart »

I've been in contact with Castle Combe with the idea of a club stand on the day, celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Sprint. They have agreed (so has the TDC) so I now need to get this organised.

Although we are celebrating the anniversary of the Sprint, I don't see any reason why the other models shouldn't participate. I'm asking for cars to put on a static display (non-track going & not necessarily concours) and those, whether modified or not, for some track sessions. We may all get to go out on track on a few parade laps around lunchtime. This will be behind a circuit car and will only be at a slow pace. This is subject to cost. I've initially said 20-30 cars but the more the merrier.

PM me if you are interested in bringing a car along and whether it will be for the static display or display and track, and if you have any ideas on the event.

I will update you with track costs etc. as we progress.

Classic & Retro Action Day - Castle Combe

Saturday 29th June 2013

For the last few years the title of this event was changed to "Classics and Sports Car Action Day". This year it is restyled to "Classic & Retro Action Day" hopefully with a bit more emphasis on "Retro".

I know it's early days but put it in your diary and give yourself a deadline for getting that "trackday project" ready.

I haven't done a track day and I'd like to pop along to one where there will be some friendly faces to show me the ropes and break me in gently. The question is, would my motor be welcome? It isn't particularly classic or retro....

It's in the diary! So I've got till then to get my project finished! I'm miffed I missed the last one up Combe. I read about it in retro cars sounded like a good show where your car was pictured. Looked good Mart! :D

I've updated the original post as we are trying to get a Sprint 40th Anniversary celebration going on.

Cost is not £170 deanos. :) This is an Action Day not the normal Track Day. Cost is per 15 minute session.

OK by me, I'm sure there will be other similar motors there.

The price for track sessions is £30 per session. Sessions last for about 15 mins.. Admission will be free (usually £12) for any display/track cars. There is camping available which is £8.

Please copy/paste then add yourself to the list if you wish to attend. This will make it easier for me to gauge interest. Ideally I'd like a minimum of 15 cars display and/or track. Leave "No. of track sessions" blank if you just wish to display your car.
