We are in Milton of Campsie not far from you. I take it from the lack of replies there are no Dolly meetings in our area.

I used to be secretary for the Caledonian centre of the MG Car Club. We tried and tried to get pub meets running in Scotland. We opened one in the Glasgow area and one in the Edinburgh area, and when that didn't work, one in the Stirling area. We also attempted one in the Aberdeen area. Despite widespread advertising to the members, in each case the only people who turned up were the committee members who had set it up.

The MGCC Caley centre has about 380 members in Scotland, many of whom are in the central belt, and it simply didn't work. I guess the TDC has far fewer Scottish members, so the omens aren't good. By all means give it a go, but don't be surprised if no-one comes.

I am a member of both TSSC and the TDC and live in the Glasgow area. If you want to do more with your car come along to the Classic Car Breakfast Meet at the Harvester Springfield Quay G58NP on 3rd Sunday of each month @ 10:30 am.
This is a meeting for any classic car not just Triumphs . Find us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/441786699359415/ or at http://www.tssc-scotland.org/breakfast-meet .

Ignition Festival of Motoring will be expanding for 2017 and will include some fantastic features such as 8 time rally championship drivers Ari Vatanen, Miki Biaslan, Juhu Kankkunen and Stig Blomqvist showing casing their cars on our street circuit, the 70 years of Ferrari display, tartan tarmac paddock and our super car gird to name a few.

TSSC Scotland will be exhibiting 5 cars at this event GT6, Spitfire, Bond, Vitesse and a Dolomite Sprint. We have been issued with a discount code for members, family and friends.

I went to the Glasgow Ignition Festival last year and was disappointed. It was certainly busy, but I thought it was expensive, with all sorts of things extra, such as entry to the stands. Because of the narrow, twisty roadway that is all they have to use, the car displays were at best pedestrian. MG Car Club (of which I am a member) had a joint stand with the Bo'ness Hill Climb organisation and we signed up several new members, so it was worthwhile from that point of view, but I doubt I will go again this year.
