Good morning,

I'm organising a Triumph (or derivative) only sprint and track day. We'd love to see some dollies on the track. Anyone interested?

Details and booking on the TR Register shop web pages.

The price is an amazingly low £60 / car plus £10 / additional driver or passenger.

Take care Kev

:upset: would have loved to if the Sprint was not off the road as I am doing a brake upgrade. Unfortunately limited time so won't get finished by then.

Stewart (Covcourier) and I are both going, Stewart with his near stock Sprint and me with the Carledo, first time out in anger with improved head and cam and TJ brakes. Also spent an hour today dealing with a knackered water pump (plus ca change!) but at least with the Vauxhall engine, it WAS only an hour!

Nice hopefully my track Sprint will make its first outing. It'll be the one that doesn't look at all road legal

A Sprint water pump can also be done in under an hour depending on who's doing it ;)

On my part, overall well. I had issues on the way with misfires (god knows how I cured that!) and I managed to pull over onto a curb and squash my centre box which caused resination issues all day.
However, ignoring the fact that the starter solenoid wire fell off meaning that my mates had to bump me all day, there were no other problems. It ran cool and consistent and amazingly got through the noise check easily at 95db. In the wet (morning) it was appalling struggling to hold traction down the straight in 3rd O/D but as it dried out I think I was doing 1.32s laps. On the last lap of the day my O/D stopped working which was good timing as it also started to rain again.
Shame you weren't there too Mart!

Morning session was awful, track was soaking wet and traction difficult to find but it dried out over lunch and only started to spit again just before finishing time.
Lots of nice and some very quick cars there. Dans Trackday car is very flat and quick in the corners, Stewarts is really good for a stocker and the Carledo is improving all the time, The TJ brakes have given me a lot more confidence and I have gained a bit of top end though the remap is still to do. And I need to readjust the ride height and stiffness at the rear cos once again I was getting a bit of tyre rub on the left rear when 2 up, The one thing I forgot to bring...... my C spanners for the Gazs'!
Pics and videos to follow soon from Stewart and me, only just got home!

Steve

Shame about the wet. That always spoils things. I've been around there a few times in the wet, not nice. As you said Dan, shifting into 3rd O/D the back would step out. 1:32s isn't bad. I usually do 1:30s and the odd 1:29. But then, I've done a lot more laps around there.

Not all circuits let you run slicks, that's why I haven't used mine yet.
