Our annual get together has now been booked for Sunday 07 September 2014 and will be held at Avoncroft Museum of Building, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. B60 4JR

http://www.avoncroft.org.uk/

Entry to the event will be free as we have been allocated either the picnic area or the overflow car park, both of which are situated outside of the Museum turnstiles. Members showing their TDC Membership Cards will be given a concessionary entry rate of £6.60 (children £4.50, under fives free) to the Museum itself which is well worth a visit; there are some 36 historic buildings which have been relocated to the site, including a windmill which they hope to have operational that day.

Members and non members, with or without your car(s) will be welcomed; it will be an ideal opportunity to join or renew!

We have permission to hold a barbeque so we have opportunity to be self sufficient for food, though the museum does have catering when inside comprising an Edwardian Tea Room which has a varied and reasonably priced menu, both food and drink.

We will have an array of regalia and Club parts and panels available, and will be holding a Club Concours competition. Ideas for other activities to occupy us during the day are welcomed.

Auto jumblers and traders are welcome, at no charge, so long as you pre-book by PM to me so we can allocate adequate space accordingly.

I have yet to confirm whether camping will be permitted on site, but local accommodation for those traveling a distance can be located with this link:

Sue and myself should be there if all goes to plan.

A question for Simon. What Reddith Premier in have you booked into as when I put it Redditch it shows two sites. Redditch North on the A441 and is 10 miles from Avoncroft @ a cost currently of £29 and Redditch West on the A448 which is only 5.6 miles from Avoncroft @ a cost currently of £63.

To make a weekend away and to keep the wife happy we are considering going to visit Hanbury Hall which belongs to the National Trust on the Saturday.

Hanbury Hall was the venue of a SODIT in the early '90s.

Not far from Hanbury is a craft centre in converted farm buildings called Ginny Ring, which would perhaps make a nice double header to keep Sue happier still

I did notice that it was Jinneyring when I looked it up on the internet.

The choice of Avoncroft Museum does mean that there are a number of places that people can go on the Saturday if they want to make a weekend away and hopefully there will be a number of members staying at the same Premier Inn when we have the location sorted.

I hope we can make it as our first visit to a TDC event. We haven't got far to come as we live in Leominster. One question - what time does it start?
