One of those is a sprint by the look of it (integral bell housing)

You can't stand a Sprint one on the bell housing like that, the projecting input shaft throws it off balance. TR6 or big saloon possibly...

Definitely from a straight 6 car, note position of starter bulge. the other one deffo looks like a single rail 1850.

Well worth a punt on the pair at current price, Mike P gave me a very tidy sum for a TR6+A type O/D box last year in similar unknown order!

Only the distance for pickup puts me off bidding myself!

Ah yes. Do the sixes have the box bolt straight to the steel plate/block rather than the ali adaptor ours has?

Yes, the adaptor plate (and therefore longer input shaft) became necessary when the TR6 'box was adopted for the Sprint in order to get the remote 'box and stick in an ergonomically efficient place.

I understand the Stag also has a longer input shaft, but only marginally.

I agree, but it hasn't fallen over; a Sprint one would.
