This is one of 3, or possibly 4 known survivors and one of those was a basket case when it last appeared on ebay a couple of years ago!

IIRC when they were new they cost the same as a brand new XJ12, so it was hardly surprising they didn't sell. I know which one of those two I'd choose....

There are a lot of cars I didn't fancy at the time, but which I would love to own now. I would love this! And an Allegro, or a Princess!! Is it my age or time of life?

All the outer panels are crafted in aluminium...causing the inner panels to rot even quicker than on the standard cars!!

They done a dam fine job of making a very pretty car very ugly! Mk1 Granada headlights should be pink with 6 wheels just like Thunderbirds!

I think in the flesh they look better than in photos. I remember when they first came out and they got a lot of press publicity, a mini Rolls Royce.

Just tried to add a couple of pics of a Rio owned by one of our members from the north west but unfortunately the pictures I took have too high resolution and will not down load. They were taken at NDD Harewood in 2013 where the car won the specialist vehicle category.

its possible someone else took some pics at a lower resolution and they will be able to post them up.
