Was this not something to do with an additive to the fuel to meet the new euro iv standards?

Think some of the newer Volvo's had a pack in the fuel line to make the engine's emissions cleaner.

Sorry chap, don't know much more than that

Your car is probably fitted with a particulate filter, periodically it releases some gunk into the system to purge the filter and remove all the muck. Chances are being a Peugeot it's gone wrong as there should be plenty in the car. Either way it should be taken to the dealer to fix as they have the special goo.

we had it into the local backstreet garage where he attended to the particulate filter but when this new warning came on he said we would need to go to the main dealer....methinks it will be a sore head

As above, it`s for the diesel particulate filter, basically it`s an additive, supposed to be topped up at service.

The light could be on because the car is only being used for short trip's(Blocked Filter).
We where told this by Renaults on the training course same engine.
Peugeot own Citroen (PSD Group)
I check later to find the process to clean the Particulate filter later cant remember anything about topping up the Fluid level.

352 @ 28/11/2022

This is time taken at the Sprint not necessary time worked.

Working on a ratio of just 7Hrs a day not including driving to the Sprint.
That equals to 68 days that doesn’t include weekends.

a good Italian tune up normally clears most blockages

These sort of occurances completely back up my argument for junking all things new in automotive life.
Our Astra van packed up just before Xmas. Couldn't find out what was wrong without plugging in a bloody laptop!
800 quid for a new ***king ECU and it's a bloody diesel; aren't they supposed to be simple? :fuming:
We're getting rid of it soon and replacing it with a 1964 Ford Thames 400e to be fitted with an 1800 XLD turbo and 5 speed.
The Vitesse is now my daily car and the Sprintfire weekend toy.
I HATE modern cars!
](*,)

Sorry, not much help with your 307 woes but you have my sympathy.(although you did buy a peugot!)

Alas diesels are no longer simple and have just as many bits to go wrong as a modern petrol car.

Worst bits to go are the high pressure pumps for HDi's and the like, that'll be £1100+ VAT +fitting please. Worryingly the early 1600cc ones fail at an alarming rate.
