Ok guys, here you go. arrived at the sellers place just after 11:00 fully laden with tow rope/bar, petrol, coolant and jump start pack just in case.
Needn't have worried to be honest. The car itself was totally as described. The front disks are warped and will be replaced this week by my mate. The bodywork is virtually mint, with a thumbnail sized 'bleb' of rust on the drivers side sill. That is it.
The hood is great, the rear screen is cracked but again, that was as described. The tyres look brand new, Wheels are tidy, just need a light clean. Exhaust is sound, the coolant pipe is mild steel but solid. Underneath the car is all good with only surface corrosion to contend with.
The interior is good. The 'wood' effects plastic is faded but easily sorted. Seats are good with no bolster wear. Everything seems to work, the drivers side window seems a little wiggly but I have nothing to compare it to. The cloth speaker cover on the drivers door card is the only casualty.
The engine sounded sweet with no undue rattles or noise. The oil was not super fresh but there was no evidence of any mayo. The coolant was clean and up to the mark. The temp gauge sat rock solid at the halfway mark despite some heavy, slow moving traffic.
The suspension is very low, so that will need a re-gas asap. Also there is only one key fob. The manuals were present and correct as was the alloy locking nut key.
I HAZ MGF!!!!!!!!! I am a very happy bunny indeed.
Ah, balmy summer breeze, hood down, wind in my hair............ damn
