Another new one is green too but not as green as the previous one. Still pretty green. No, now it's Blue.
The other new one will be white with stripes. Actually it might not. No, it will be.

Only the one door seal but everything else securely stuck/screwed/bolted on. Lots of kind comments.

Another interesting FRW picture surfaced:

Image

FRW 799L with its badges taped off... where the Dolomite 135 badges still fitted??

The picture is for sale at ebay (no connection)

Slightly OT. Never been on a hovercraft, once the fastest way to cross the channel are any still in commercial service? I'm not sure even the Isle of Wight one runs any more.

About 20 years ago, my wife and I did a cross channel hovercraft crossing on an enormous one with 4 big propellers.

The crossing was quite rough and we spent quite a lot of time in the air: it was very much like being on a plane and it was only when looking out of the window you realised you were still generally on the sea!

Hell of a feat of engineering considering it had cars, trucks and buses in it!

There is still a commercial hovercraft service to Ryde from Southsea, I think it takes about 9 minutes.
