Hi Dave

As I said at the last meeting I will be happy to help.

What about my suggestion to go to the Lakeland Car Museum. Its located in the south of the lakes and they also own the Steam Railway close by with a bus service and deals to go to both. They do discounts for clubs and take bookings for club events that are popular. A reserved carpark outside the main doors is often allocated so a mini show for the public can be put on.

The museum has a good range of cars and bikes and includes the Campbell Museum dedicated to Malcolm Campbell. There's a good restaurant also.

I realise its further to travel for some from the north east but may encourage members from the north west to come.

We could also resurrect the idea of NDD2 in September at the superb OVTE. This would be closer to the usual venues and being similar in size and style to the Harewood House event could be vary attractive to members. As you know a number of local members already attend this event.

I won't rule out the Lakeland Car Museum as it would be a bit more handy for the North West contingent.

We decided that we should try for the Lakeland Car Museum so Bob is going to get in touch with them to see what dates are available to us.

We've decided to try for Saturday 17th June. Bob will get back to the museum to see if we can have that day. As soon as I have confirmation I can let Steve W. know so he can get it in the mag.

I've had confirmation from Bob that NDD will be on Saturday 17th June at the Lakeland Motor Museum. We will have the courtyard car park available for us to display our cars. Please bring your membership cards to gain reduced admission to the museum. We will need to be there by 10am. I will e-mail Steve W. to get it in the next edition of the mag. I will contact the other local AOs to spread the word and I will e-mail my local members. Hopefully, we can get the northwest contingent to swell our numbers.

Just to confirm the museum opening times.

They open to the public at 9.30am and I have advised them, that to allow for travelling, we will probably start arriving at about 10.00am. As we have the courtyard carpark reserved for us you can turn up at any time during the day and if you wish leave early. You just need to be aware that the carpark is the main pedestrian entrance to the museums and the café, so take care on arriving and leaving.

If you can't make it in a Dolomite you can come in another classic and park with us or come in your modern cars and park in the main carpark. Just remember that you need your membership cards to get 10% off the entrance fee.

I have been here twice with other car clubs and can wholeheartedly recommend it. If time allows there is a steam railway and lake steamers linked to the museum close by and joint tickets can be purchased for these also. A bus is laid on to transport you to and from them. In my past visits with going round the museum, eating and chin wagging I've never had time, but may try for a trip on the train this time.

Bob

I wasn't able to attend last weeks Yorkshire meeting due to my son being ill and having to be hospitalised so I have no idea how many may be intending to go to this event.

The reason I am posting this is my son is going to be in hospital potentially for several weeks and because of this I cannot say that I can make it and I am concerned that it may be a bit of a wash out. I would have definitely attended so at least one went but now I cant say this, so if you are going could you please post on here otherwise I feel I will need to contact the museum to advise that no one may turn up.

Bob.

I don't think I can make it either. A Corsa's taking all my time so the 1850 is getting no attention.

Just got back from hospital and they may be letting my son out for the weekend depends on consultant Thursday so quite possible I will not be able to attend.
Not looking good at all as only negative posts, I will leave it till tomorrow and if no one saying they are going I will let the museum know.

If I can go I will but will be sad if I'm the only one, maybe NDD has had its day now.

Not having had any further information on those hoping to attend I have just informed the museum that numbers are likely to be low or none.

I will hopefully know later today if my son is coming out of hospital on Saturday, if he isn't I will try my best to get there.

Well my son is coming home for the weekend to see how he copes. If all goes well he should be discharged for next weekend. This is great news for us but does mean I have to be home so cannot attend.

I hope some of you go it is a really good museum and a good day out.

Bob
