The Full English Breakfast Run - Sleap Aerodrome Shropshire - This Sunday 29th Oct (AKA 'The SORN Run')

Yet another Breakfast run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Squeezing them in while the weather holds.............

Destination: Shropshire Aero Club Ltd, Sleap Aerodrome, Harmer Hill, Shropshire SY4 3HE

Date: This Sunday 29th Oct

Pick-up 1: Pit Lane, Hough, Cheshire CW2 5JQ. Departing from here c.9.30am. Park up half-way down the lane.

Pick-up 2: The Swan With Two Necks, Nantwich Road, Blackbrook, Staffordshire ST5 5EH (note: NOT the usual pick-up at the Swan in Woore!)

Time: 9.45am for a 10.00am departure from the Swan's car park.

Or........ just see you at Sleap!

Right then, Peter from Woore, (who used to have a Triumph or two, but no longer does and now has a TVR) missed last weekends run to Sleap. He is going to SORN his car at the end of the month and is going for a final blast out to Sleap this Sunday. He asked me if any of us guys wanted to tag along.

I have asked around and there are 3 of us, so far, that are going. Me, Neil Bryce and Tony Ikin. Peter has a pal in another TVR coming, so we are 5 up at the moment

Neil Brown, Bruce and Garreth can't make it.

Still waiting to hear from Kev.

(Gary N from Hope, if reading this, I will email you.)

All welcome, post here if you need further info.........

Cheers
Keith

This is the first time in many months that I've checked into the TDC forum, only to find that I managed to miss a meet, today, at a venue less than 20 miles away, and which I used to frequent. What a shame. If this is a regular event I shall try to make it another time.

Regards,
Richard

Well, another great day and run out! Brilliant weather too.

Met the TVR boys at Woore, there should have been 5 Chimeras but Peter could not start his so just the 4. There was also an MGF. Peter was in some modernish BMW.............. so 9 cars in total.

It seems that my sat-nav is not the only one with a mind of its own, Peter led the way and once he ignored his sat-nav, we got to Sleap in a roundabout way. I think it was via Shrewsbury????

Lots of aircraft activity at Sleap, it seems they all came out to play this Sunday after storm Brian stopped them last week. One of the 1930's German bi-planes was out and so was the 1950 Avro Anson T21. There were also lots of the usual light aircraft taking off and landing.

Great Breakfast as per usual and an interesting chat with an ex-director of the airfield who was explaining some of the technicalities of the ground markings as seen from the air by pilots.

Cheers
Keith

Hi Richard, Yes a shame you missed it, it was a good run out all told.
Where abouts do you live? As our runs out are in different areas :D But we always have a full "english" somewhere
We are thinking of another run on the 19th of November if anyone is up for it?
Keep in touch,
Cheers, tony.
