Where are all the places on an 1980 Sprint you will find identification numbers.

I'm no expert on the later cars but I believe the VIN number is stamped on the boot aperture on the rear screen end not the lock end, also on the plate in the engine bay. I'm sure someone more learned will be along shortly to confirm / correct.

I heard that too but trying to work out exactly where you mean at the rear screen end.

Open the boot, and look in the trough of the boot aperture below the rear window

Yes you're right - unfortunately it's a sticker so is warn as you'd expect after 37 yrs, I wonder is there anyone who could remake it. Would like to have one to put back on after the respray.

Where's the engine number on a Sprint engine.

It's not a sticker your after, I've seen James's Sprint markings, and they are about 1/2" engraved/embossed lettering.

I'm sure there's a picture in his thread.

If you car has the newer style VIN (11 digits, not the VA***DLO number) it will have the number stamped into the boot channel.

Look from inside the boot, underneath the number and you might well find that they can be read. When stamped at the factory, it breaks what little paint is there and quietly rusts!

Yes, you're right - it is stamped - I cleaned it up and the number is visible on the top too.
