I enjoyed many track days in the past but never took out insurance for the day, knowing it would be at my own expense if I, or anyone else, pranged my car. I was lucky to only have one incident which resulted in the offside rear door being dented. You do not need cover to insure yourself against hitting other track users. If you hit someone on track, they can not claim off you. On saying that, it's not a bad idea to get insurance for your own track car.
Nigel, you could try MGs on track
www.mgs-on-track.com, we had a couple of events with them at Silverstone. We also had a few events at Castle Combe with the TR Register.
