Hi Folks, any of you good got an early 1850 rev counter they would part with? It does not have to be working, just the same as in the photo.
Many thanks,

Tony.

Tony, what are you looking to do?
Are you needing to borrow a rev counter until your own is repaired?

Thanks
Ian

PS are you aware that Robsport have brand new ones?

Hi Ian,
I have swapped over to 12 volt and no ballast. A friend who is good at electronics has the later rev counter so he is going to transfer the parts from one to the other so it will look the same and should i want to revert back i will still have a good one. I hope that makes sense  That is why i wasn't bothered if it didn't work, i just had to look right.
I didn't know about Robsport doing them so that is handy to know.
My pal (another club member) says it will work as he has done one already. I will let you know how i get on.

Thanks again Ian,
Cheers,
Tony.

From experience I know an unmodified early rev counter works on 12V unballasted, Tony.
To an early 2850 I fitted a 123 distributor and actually had two wires going to the +ve coil terminal,
one directly and the other through (so to speak) the rev counter. Disconnecting the rev counter
made no difference to the running of the engine.
For EFI conversations the early type rev counter is a better option as well…..

Thanks
Ian

Only visually, the Stag one will be calibrated for an 8 cylinder engine...and I expect the Stag engine red line is lower?

Hi Ian, my pal has swapped the insides of a later rev counter to the early one and the car now runs 12 volt no ballast. 8) We just could not get it to work without the ballast for some reason. But all is well now. Thanks for your help everyone.

Tony.
