Just carrying on the thread I started on the old forum ( :yaboo: ).

Alun, I have found a pair of inner/inners & outter/inners. I may sell them as I don't need them for my project orange.

Just had to give the engine & g/box a quick wipe over. What a state to let a new engine get in!

Looks tidy! Has it had a rebuild or is it just a totally new lump, as you infer? (or pulled from the car as was?)

Do you plan just to rebuild this as a lovely Sprint, pretty much standard, or are you going to uprate it in any ways?

It's a new engine with about 100 miles on it...so the po tells me. I have a Rimmers receipt for a full engine costing £900 in Sept' '92. Apparently he took it off the road not long after fitting the engine. :?

This Sprint is going to be pretty standard except for:-

Suspension, it already has nearly new Spax adjustables & lowered springs.

Leccy ignition, may buy one of those Jod thingies, but they still use the points don't they?

It's already got a few chromed bits on it.

It's got a new stainless std. exhaust to go on.

I was going to poly bush it but all the bushes look pretty new so I'm not going to bother doing that.

Spent all day working on SFB. I've nearly finished welding the front panel & wings on. I'll finish that off tomorrow all being well, & then I need to drill the three holes for the nose badge. Also found that one of the rear jacking points has no metal whatsoever, just a nice neat square hole.

All finished except for the headlight panels (Z sections).

I know I've done these before but I've forgotton how to get these in the correct position. Presumably the small bracket sticking out of the back panel goes in the recess of the h/light panel. What about the bit nearest the wing, how far does that go back?

One other thing, what is the correct diameter drill for the nose badge pin inserts?

Only about 5mm back at the edges Mart.

As for the bagde snap off the pins and araldite it on...but if you must drill then the top two holes are 47.5mm apart, the bottom one being 39mm diagnoal from each, all holes measured centre to centre

I made up a template for the nose badge, I had 47 & 39, not bad eh? I wanted to know the hole size to drill for the inserts.

Not quite with you Alun. Which part of the panel should be 5mm. from the edge?

I've just gone out to have a look but the only place I can get 5mm. is as per the photo. Should the h/light panel be parallel (top to bottom) with the inner panel?

Fitted the h/light retaining panels tonight. That's me finished for the time being. The nice man from the body shop is picking it up on Friday afternoon & it should be back before Christmas all shiney, shiney. :D

I'll then have room to bring the track Sprint in & put the new front discs on...after I've done some welding on Mary's Civic.

Yep...that looks about right. But you'll put them on the correct sides before you finally weld won't you?

Only joking!
