This is surely a solution that could be implemented on a local basis? Just as hydrogen production...
We are living in a technologically fascinating and challenging time as the move to zero carbon requires.
I have seen a similar thing in photographic processing when for colour processing ye olde smelly nasty EP2 was done away with
and replaced with RA4.
The real challenge came when lower volume turnover necessitated producing chemistry that didn't go off quickly (oxidise)...
but of course a solution was found here too.
