Where is best to situate an oil cooler. I know some of you guys have moved you batteries to the boot but I don`t really want to do that as this will also be a raod car used for weekends away camping etc. I have a Mocal fitting kit but the hoses don`t look all that long to me. I was thinking maybe behind the number plate and just using a square number plate off to one side.

Mines behind the no. plate. which is fine if you remember to remove it before going out on track. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes"> To & from the track I keep to a steady speed & don't give it many revs.
Re: Oil cooler locations
Nice one I was thinking of putting it their and re locating the fromt number plate, perhaps a stick on one on the bonnet or maybe a square one off to one side. I will put some mesh over the hole. What hose fittings do you use, the fitting kit you get from mocal is very tight with the amount of hose you get, nowhere near enough to run it through to the front of the car. I had planne d on just buying the aeroquip hose and the push on fittings with the worm drive hose clips, are they up to the job????

Carsreunited has his mounted on the right hand inner wing. You could put it vertically next to the radiator on the off side as I intend.
This would mean moving the standard (if your running this way!) air intake hoses for the carbs.
I saw this in RETROCAR magazine (on a brooklands green cover car) and posted this suggestion earlier, unfortunately the website has crashed since this question was last asked.
