I might come along to watch & take some piccies. It'll have to be in the Prelude though 'cause old Sprinty has been tucked up for the winter.
Give me a contribution and I'll let you take the Sprint for a spin under my amateur tuition.

At the very least there will be an empty passenger seat.

Could be.......

#5 Post by Carsreunited » Thu Oct 09, 2003 11:45 am

I'm 99% sure I'll be able to come along, probably with my Wife <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> though in her car <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> . She's never been on a track so I'm hoping she will enjoy it as much as I did.

I have certain child care issues to get over first but providing we can get a days respite care for the foster kid we look after then it should be fine. My wife may invite a friend of hers who has a Cooper S (BWM style) which might put a few 'proper' sports cars to shame! She lives in Bath so its fairly local for her.
Great!

A Cooper S should be fun to watch and hear the whine of the blower being thashed!

Make sure you book it asap as places are limited.

Also worth a mention is spectators may be an issue as its a working RAF base. I think a couple of spectators with each driver is usually OK.
Good on you

What the hell hey Mart? If thats somewhere near the equation then you should be in pole position!!

I know its not as simple as that. See if you can get along. You will be suprised at how intoxicating the whole thing is. It will be good to see you again. Get your Dolly out and put her to good use. You might be suprised at how close she gets to the 90's boy racer crowd........
No way am I going to take the Brooklands Sprint round. After all those hours of cleaning the inside of the exhaust pipe & getting the stones out of the tyre treads. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol"> That's why I'm building my track/sprint Sprint.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/grin.gif ALT=" >D"> I realised what I'd been missing after going round the Combe with Graeme a couple of times.

I've just booked a place in the Elise Sports & Racing Course @ Castle Combe in December. I thought it would be a good thing to do before I get let loose with my Sprint. Can't wait !!
I'd had a bit too much to drink when I replied to that last night. I can't even work out what I meant in the first bit.

The Elise day sounds great. The biggest challenge is getting in and out of one. Very amusing. As for Keevil, you could be feeling a little ill on that day. End of November, lots of bugs going around according to my crystal ball.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">
Is it the day where you get a go in a Focus, FF1600, Impreza WRX and Elise?

If so I can recommend it from 1st hand experience - what amazed me is the elise is better round the track than the formula fords!

I was a bit disappointed how lacking in fun the imprezas were though - fast but very very dull.
Yea Graeme, that's the one. Not sure about the Impreza though it just says a GTi.

Scott - I'm not sure what you were on about either but, as you'd been drinking, it doesn't matter. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/sick.gif ALT=":x">

Booked

#15 Post by Carsreunited » Tue Oct 21, 2003 6:46 pm

I booked it up today. Probably with my Wifey hopefully. Don't know if her mate will be coming along in the 's' yet.

Looking forward to slithering around on a cold track and trying to tease the Mini into Oversteer.
