Weeeeee!

#1 Post by 2F45T4U » Thu Jan 26, 2006 3:24 pm

A guy in college has just got a 6 month old 1.8 SRI Corsa. 0-60 in 8 seconds feels bloody fast!!! I can't belive I've been living with 0-60 in over 20 for so long! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... rassed.gif ALT=":o">

Mega grin factor! I want a Sprint! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":(">

0-60 in 8ish seconds in a sprint feels much faster than that, especially with rock hard lowered suspension.

You thought eight secs was fast Adam.

At the weekend my younger brother treated me to a run out in his new toy (Ferrari 430 F1 - 0 to 62 in 4 secs dead).

I am still recovering. Especially the bit where he got out and let me have a go. Utterly intoxicating is all I can say. If you can ever ever afford one don't listen to your sensible side - just get on and buy the thing.

I want one now and I could not afford the wheel nuts.

I've had a track day ride in a 400BHP escort cosworth which was pretty mind blowing so gawd knows what ALG1K is like.
Ferraris are nice cars but they are even better to watch getting burned by old classics!
My girlfriend has been lucky enuogh to borrow some cars from work, Jaguar S-Type R and XKR 400 bhp supercharged, as soon as you nail the throttle the super smooth autobox drops a few cogs and the engine turns from a smoothe burble in to a raucus V8 bellow accompanied by the howl of it`s supercharger and it just launches you at the horizon like a catapult. I don`t care what people say about jags I love em, BM`s, Mercs may all be better finished, blah, blah, blah but they don`t make you feel quite so special.
We had a brand new BMW M6 in at work last week, brutally fast but the wiring looks like a poor car audio installation, where is this legendary BMW build quality????
You wait until Phil gets that Cerbera engine in his. With his car being about 200kilos lighter than a Cerbera it will absolutely fly (once he's got traction!). It will be quicker than an F430 that's for sure. Can't wait to see it finished.

11.4 seconds must feel quite quick then. Other than the pull aways where one piston could be trying to go the opposite way to the other 3(!) and the 15 mpg (due to the fact I had to floor it to get it to move) I wouldn't of complained about the performance. relativly happy on the M-ways... Ahhh what am I on about.... I want to go faster!!! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":(">

I've got a full clutch that needs 4 or 5 fingers replacing if you want it. Or have you paid £500 for one already? I'm sure the one I have could be reconned for less.
Let me know.
