Gaydon Triumph Day 30th May 2004
Gaydon Triumph Day 30th May 2004
Anyone got any ideas or plans for the Standard Triumph Day at Gaydon Heritage Centre 30th May? Would be nice to have a gathering of Dolly's there.

We always have a club stand at Gaydon - last year we had well over 30 cars on display, plus many more in the public car park. When we get some more info about this year's show I'll post the details on here. It'll be one of the items on the agenda at the Standard Triumph Forum meeting tomorrow.
Plans for this year's event haven't been finalised as yet,but important information for club members will be posted in the forthcoming edition of Dolly Mixture.I won't post the information on the website or forum because it wouldn't be fair on club members who don't have internet access. Therefore all members will get the info at the same time (with apologies in advance to our overseas member who get their magazine delivered a little later than our uk-based members).
Suffice to say that there will be a club stand, traders, autojumble and other attractions.Make sure you read Dolly Mixture as soon as it arrives! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
This would be a good opportunity to display the repro panel range we now have. If I keep it to just the panels can we have it as an extension to the club stand<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> ? or should I book an autojumble stand<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":("> ?
We usually have plenty of space under the gazebo and we're assuming that we'll be given enough space to be able to put up our gazebo this year.So yes,I'm sure we'll be able to find a bit of room to display your panels.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
help!!!!!
i just bought my first 'dolly' yesterday. she was sat lonely in an old garage and i fell for her. Im a 55 year old single woman with no idea where to start restoring her. But i so want to give her a shot. She will eventually need a respray although her condition isnt too bad. Anyone in the wilts area that could give me a start and tell me where i need to get going on her. I would be most grateful.

Re: help!!!!!
Although we haven't got an Area Rep for Wilts (would you like to volunteer?<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> ),we do have members in that part of the country, though not all have them are able to read this forum. Our Bristol & Avon group is possibly the closest one to you, details of the meet (and of all other local group meetings) are listed in our club magazine,Dolly Mixture. The best advice we can give you is to join the club and get to know your nearest Area Rep,Technical Officers and comittee members as well as fellow club members. We're all here to help you! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
thanks
Andy
Many thanks for your reply it was much appreciated, how do i join the club? (and i dont mean the pudding club cos i've had MY big ends done!) joking aside though, would you now send me details of how to become a member. Once i am up and running i may well become the rep for the area, but first and foremost i want to know what to do with my little girl and how to spruce her up so she dosent look so lost and lonely (i expect an ahhhhhhh at that point). I know she will look a little cracker when she is done and i cant wait to posh her up and show off. Im very much a novice though, never having done this before, and being fond of cleanliness and longish nails! She will be worth it though.
Any further advice gratefully recieved, and are there any chat rooms/notice boards devoted to our little darlings?

Re: thanks
Details on how to join the club are here.I don't know of any chatrooms as such, but these forums (this one and the main TDC one) are the only noticeboards I know of which are dedicated to Dolomites.Have a dig around the main club website and also through our forum archives to pick up information.Try asking specific questions in the main TDC forum and when you come along to events. We do have many lady members and some of them post on here,so you're not alone <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"> .All our club officers are very approachable,so don't be afraid to ask for help.
Re: very grateful
Why not take some piccies of your car as the restoration progresses? It'd be great to feature her in our club magazine...<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Pictures in the Magazine
Thinking laterally here Andy, we could do one of those charity calenders featuring some of our ladies working on their cars<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"> Think of the publicity, membership would soar<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
